Subject: Re: BRK led by migrants
And this one from his own time in the Oval Office:
“We’re a nation of laws, and we must enforce our laws. We’re also a nation of immigrants, and we must uphold that tradition, which has strengthened our country in so many ways. These are not contradictory goals. America can be a lawful society and a welcoming society at the same time.”
Not only a positive sentiment, but also statistically defensible.
US immigrants commit crimes at a lower rate than the native born, so having more immigrants is certainly consistent with seeing a more law abiding society...
e.g., US natives have been incarcerated at a rate of about 27 per 1000 2010-2024, illegal immigrants at roughly half that rate, and legal immigrants lowest of the three groups. Similar findings pretty consistently since the 19th century. About the only notable subgroup exception among various origin regions and time frames was Latin American immigrants prior to 1960, who apparently didn't behave that well.
