I agree.
I suppose the thinking is that it is similar to when traditionally breaking up other monopolies in the past. It isn’t a problem for the parts to be monétised but they they should be not in the hands of one owner.
But as you say only the likes of Meta, Microsoft, etc, would be in the position to buy chrome, risking another search monopoly.
The anti-monopoly case could be to limit buyers, but then they would hugely lower the sale value and argued as deemed unfair.
