We can't have legislators choosing their constituents, instead of constituents choosing their legislators. As was mentioned in the piece, that's just insane.

Gerrymandering has been going on for well over a century. The GOP in Michigan gerrymandered itself into a 40 year lock on control of the legislature, in spite of Michigan being purple, with state wide votes swinging back and forth. When "We The People" voted overwhelmingly to take redistricting away from the GOP controlled legislature, the pols called a lame duck session, after the election, to unwind the clear voice of "We The People". but failed.
