I refer anyone who is seriously interested in an explanation of the origin of life...
As in abiogenesis? Last I knew, we weren't quite sure how that bit happened. Everything after that was evolution and natural selection, as has been pretty well established (scientists don't like to say "proven", but for all practical purposes for lay-people, it is proven).
Not a biologist, but I would be interested in the 'cliff notes' about it (abiogenesis).
