Subject: Re: Thought Police can't happen here
According to the CNN report, the test was a multiple-choice assessment with approximately 50 questions. One question included "asking teachers to select from a series of multiple-choice answers which chromosome pairs determine biological sex." Another question was "Why freedom of religion is important to America’s identity."

As a test of pure general knowledge that all Americans should possess, I see nothing fundamentally wrong with those two questions per se, but it would depend on what the list of possible answers were. If a free form answer was expected, I'd want all teachers to respond that the X and Y chromosomes together determine biological sex and that freedom of religion is a fundamental American right specified in the Constitution and codified in the First Amendment.

I haven't been able to find the actual test online to see what other questions asked and what the choices are.
