When your policy is to treat 99% of the new arrivals as refugees, take their name, give them a court date in ten years and send them on their way, sometimes with government paid plane ticket, then you have magically solved the "illegal problem".

You're conflating "asylum seeker" with "refugee". Asylum seekers are not refugees and are not treated as refugees.
