What is now clear is that job creation in the US started immediately slowing down after Trump made his “Liberation Day” tariff announcement in early April. We averaged 162,000 jobs created in Trump’s first 3 months. In the months after the tariff announcement it has been 35,000 per month. For comparison Joe Biden averaged about 385,000 jobs created per month, more than ten times the rate of the past 3 Trumpian shitshow months.
