Not really. You didn't post a link, so attributing a single sentence to him isn't going to "hit a nerve" - it's not even a summary of his argument.

Regardless, it's not like this isn't something that's been discussed at length among the various factions of the Democratic party. Ruy Teixeira and Matt Yglesias have been banging the same drum for quite a while from the center. There's always a faction in the party - either party - that's dissatisfied with the leadership and thinks that they've got the answer. Even moreso when the party's trailing in the polls. That's hardly a revelation, and not something that will "hit a nerve."
