Maybe let's keep all of this in mind --- and stop playing God.

We have a president who thinks he’s God. And a Republican Congress that has ceded him godlike powers.

We have a whole contingent of Americans who worship him.

And all of us have, by our silence over the years, allowed this imperial presidency to grow and metastasize.

The office of the presidency was just waiting for someone like Trump to knock down the remaining barriers and declare that his power is “unlimited”.

And there is a whole host of people still making excuses for it. An authoritarian dictator suits them just fine.

He’s not going to stop unless death or America stops him.

Till then, American foreign policy is in his hands, not America’s hands.

He really is “the decider”. And we’ll pay the price for it.
