This seems to be one of those lies that gets told enough it becomes truth. I know it was repeated on Fox news, but mostly as innuendo that could be mistaken as truth. It is a bit like the recent "truth" that the US government paid Iran to release US citizens. What the US did is release a hold on Iranian money held in Korea... which is substantially different than the impression the right wing machine was spreading. It is this kind of journalism (and it does happen on both sides) that creates the impression there is a HUGE divide between the two sides, when in reality neither side correctly perceives the other.
