The change in time zones was always the killer. Took me days to recover.

I'm now in my 60s. We have taken two trips so far this year. First, we flew to Singapore, and then flew back from Manila. Both times, it took days to recover.** Second trip, flew to NYC, ship to Iceland, flew back from England. Again, it was 3 or 4 days before I wasn't napping in the afternoon, and a week before I felt "normal".

I can't even imagine that when I'm 80.

First time I flew overseas I was 30. Usually about 3 days to recover then.

Caveat: I can't sleep on a plane for more than a few minutes. Neck pillows don't help. I usually watch the movies, and go to bed at a normal time (for that time zone) when I arrive.

**For some reason it seems to be worse going from west-east. East-west still has some recovery time, but west-east is at least a week, if not longer.
