the trump-musk marriage is unstable for a simple reason that has nothing to do with politics and MAGA culture wars.

musk's pending tesla pay package is ~10X trump's net worth.
musk's net worth is already ~100X trump's.

who thinks trump can tolerate this gap increasing for 4 more years? because this is almost certain given just the tsunami of taxpayer money musk will take via spaceX.

once don senses any of musk's theatrics are for personal benefit AND there is not a significant cut for trump friends&family, divorce via pretext of a disagreement over some issue-of-the-day is a forgone conclusion.
although unlikely, i would not rule-out that some covert payoff (e.g., campaign laundered funds) from musk could or has been done.
