Pointing out facts to you is not a childish spitball. Just because you find that fact inconvenient doesn't make it childish. It just means you would rather use sources that confirm your worldview (even if they tell you untrue things) than a source that informs you (if it makes you uncomfortable).

That is a great way to stay ignorant but feeling good about yourself.

Somehow you are going to whine that this is an insult even though it is factual and probably the most important thing someone could ever tell you if you really cared about not continuing to wallow in ignorance.
