Subject: Re: Greggs PLC (GRG.L)
Don't know anything about them from an investment standpoint, but whenever we are there, we have to go to Greggs for a cheese baguette, and a sausage roll for me.

I posted that upthread in April. We made a trip to the UK in the summer and made a point to visit Greggs.

Hmm, I'm going to agree with Jim, here. Something was off. The coffee was cheap and not bad. Food wasn't good.

I'd got into my head that the "cheese baguette" I'd enjoyed previously was made to order, and on a fresh, crunchy baguette. Perhaps they are at some locations?
Not at these two we tried this summer. Plastic wrapped, apparently factory-made, no crunch.
And maybe my digestion isn't what it was, but the sausage roll was not well received. Enough said.

But, as my lovely wife says, British people eat disgusting "food" all the time. My tiny hometown now has a KFC, for example. The drive through seemed very busy.
There's money in giving folks what they want.
