General Anthony McAuliffe whose troops at Bastogne were surrounded by the Germans in WW2. The Germans sent a surrender ultimatum. McAliffe sent the one word reply, "Nuts."

Mark Carney took three words to react to a question from a reporter about one of Trumplethinskins personal attacks. "What a joke," may not have been as brief as "Nuts," but is showed the same level of earned contempt.
