Because they are clueless dittoheads. They say what their masters tell them to say without any thinking involved.

Nevermind that -in general- there are far more impactful factors to the economy than whom the POTUS and VP are. That's way beyond the thinking that they do. So the POTUS always gets the blame (or credit). Does the VP have any effect on the economy? Not really. Doesn't matter, because FAUX Noise (and similar outlets) have told them what to think.

Being politically aware is a lot of work. A lot of people are lazy. Me included (I just love sitting around doing nothing...puttering, TV, etc). But I force myself to go to work (before I retired), yard work, reading up on current events, and learning how the system works to put those events into context (e.g. the lesson you gave us on asylum last winter).

I'd rather be watching The Recruit (I think it's a really good show, and season 2 is a few months away).
