"Thus returning the airwaves to 99% progressive idealogy the way God intended...."
LOL.
Ignoring your hyperbole, your point doesn't work. There are still plenty of other conservative news outlets.
But that is besides the point.
The first point is should Fox be held to the same laws as everyone else in this country? If Fox news libels Dominion, shouldn't Dominion be able to sue and collect damages in a court of law?
Of course I think so. Do you disagree?
Fact of the matter is, Dominion has lost business in the nuttiest parts of MAGA country partly because Fox deliberately allowed things they knew not to be true to be said (unchallenged and uncorrected) about Dominion on the airwaves they controlled.
The greater point though is given all of the information that is coming out about Fox in this lawsuit, why would anyone sane watch them? I don't think they should go out of business (unless they cannot afford to pay the legal penalties that their business model creates), I just think in an ideal world where people are looking for information no sane person would pay attention to Fox and they be some small crazy TV channel with a couple thousand viewers.
I have often said that people who watch Fox are not looking to be educated or informed. They are looking to have their already pre-existing beliefs confirmed through emotion. But now that is not just me saying this, it is literally Fox themselves. There are all sorts of crazy emails coming out from Fox executives talking about how they cannot tell the truth on the air because they will lose viewers. There are Fox on air personalities testifying under oath that they did not believe the very things they were saying on the air. They had to tell their viewers what they wanted to hear or their viewers would go elsewhere. Their business model is not to inform, it is to cause emotional attachment (either through causing outrage at some perceived enemy or through emotion reinforcement).
Given all of this, why would any sane person watch Fox to be informed. They are literally telling you that they will lie to you to keep you as a viewer.
So bigharrymike, given what Fox news execs say in their emails and what on air personalities are testifying, why do you ever watch Fox news?
