My view hasn't changed at all. I've studied parts of crime in different countries. The forensic science shows don't show that a lot of crimes are solved by shoe leather.

So your observation here is the crime is solved by...police work...and that means detectives and cops talking to witnesses and gathering evidence. That's fascinating. Who knew?

But your larger point is that we should ignore illegal immigration because it might make it tougher to solve local crimes. Yeah, not so much. Maybe let's get rid of the violent illegals first and then perhaps just from that we'll see a reduction in other crimes. Things like drugs, gang activity, human trafficking, that sort of thing.
