Subject: Re: Job Growth Falls/Unemployment Up
LurkerMom: I’ll leave the last word to Reuters..
Here are the facts, not from Reuters but from the real world:
Trump lost 2.9 million jobs during his presidency and left office with a 6.3% unemployment rate.
Biden has added 15.4 million jobs and has kept the unemployment rate below 4.0% for a modern record 27 straight months.
Trump lost, on average, 59,000 jobs per month during his presidency -- negative 59,000 jobs per month.
Biden added an average 385,000 jobs per month during his presidency, the best jobs performance by any president dating back to before Carter was in office.
Dope1: Wait a month and they’ll change them.
BLS posted the revisions for February and March. In total, those months were revised down 22,000 jobs which means those two months still added 561,000 -- over a half million -- jobs.
Dope1: Why do we need a rate cut?
Because the Fed risks tipping the economy into a recession by not lowering rates more than by squeezing out the so-called “last mile” of inflation by keeping borrowing costs higher for longer than needed. As the labor market cools, the playbook changes.
