Prices have tumbled almost 6% on the West Coast, the rest of the country, which often lags, is flat or up a tad. The sub-headline is misleading, while the full year prices are up, the trend in housing is down, at least short term. Housing starts are off, housing prices are flattening or heading down, and the mania has cooled.
