Berliner's five-day suspension without pay, which began last Friday, has not been previously reported."
He was suspended 5 days because 1) he didn’t bother bringing the complaint to the network first, and 2) his contract says he must get permission before publishing elsewhere. He did neither.
For the record,
He complained about NPR coverage of Covid 19, Russian interference in the 2016 election, and coverage of the Hunter Biden laptop. For the record, NPR said Covid 19 probably started in Wuhan, China, there is significant evidence that Russia did, in fact, try to interfere with the 2016 election, and NPR covered the laptop story as did most other outlets, although it had no first hand knowledge it could verify, and said so.
The NPR reporter seems to have swallowed the crazies’ theories whole, and it is going to be hard for him to recoup. That’s because newsrooms run on trust, and as others in that newsroom have said, “I’m not going to work with him and find out later he’s shitting all over me in some nutter rag.”
He did this to himself, but of course as with all things right, it’s not his fault, it’s everyone else.
