From what I see, seems the Reichstag fire was likely lit by Communists.

They were the scapegoats. Especially one (I forget the name now) who was executed. But, as I recall, there is credible testimony from S.A. people (given after the war, IIRC) that the S.A. actually started the fire, and transported the communist to the scene of the crime so he could be credibly incriminated.

I'd have to dust off my old WWII library, and/or do some online research to recall all the details. But that is what I'm remembering.

Putin took that page out of history to bomb an apartment complex and blame it on the Chechens. False flag operation.
