In a hearing this morning with Secret Service acting director Ronald Rowe on the assassination attempt against former President Donald Trump, Abbate said the FBI has discovered over 700 social media comments they believe were made by the shooter around 2019 and 2020 that he described as antisemitic and anti-immigrant.

“Some of these comments, if ultimately attributable to the shooter, appear to reflect antisemitic and anti-immigration themes to espouse political violence and are described as extreme in nature,” Abbate said.
