As a side note, I know what's in those fabs. I wouldn't want to live within a mile of one. It is rare, but if they have an "event", they will vent outside to protect the workers. The Motorola facility they mentioned in Marketplace (built in the late 40s) is a superfund site, I believe. It was at 52nd street, and has some nasty stuff in the soil. Or it did...not sure if they cleaned it up already. There are houses and business all around that site (it's more or less in the middle of the city). - 1pg

Yikes. Why must they expand in a major population center, especially with all the open desert surround the area.
