Not the larger issue of declining US popularity but just travel fees...I don't see a problem and would be against fees that don't, as a minimum, cover the cost of our entry programs/security/etc.

My wife and I went to Australia and NZ earlier in the year and IIRC NZ was well north of $100 per.
