As I've gotten older I've learned that it is painful both physically and emotionally. The longer you live, the more family, friends, heroes and people you admire, you end up watching them pass on. 99 is a long time to live but it doesn't make it any easier on family and friends. The only real "hero" type person I ever had was in sports and growing up when I did, it was Brooks Robinson. Sadly he recently (mid summer) passed away as well and it still hit me hard despite being near 60.
