Subject: Re: Biden does what he can...
Secretary of State Antony Blinken and other U.S. officials met with Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador to discuss the record pace of illegal border crossings. Wall Street Journal December 27, 2023
We aren't Hawkish, possibly you haven't followed the multiple contacts between Biden admin and the Mexican President - it's called diplomacy. - Lapsody

OK, let me ask the question more politely so as to avoid giving you the opportunity to divert the discussion into Biden's degree of hawkishness.
I am constantly impressed how the Great Statesmen in the Biden Admin firmly operate with just the right tone, neither dovish nor hawkish, but just right to gain cooperation on the international scene. And now he has done it yet again with his success having discussions with Obrador.
Not to diminish this awesome achievement, but given its obvious benefits why didn't he conduct this diplomacy and gain these benefits a year or two ago?
The reason I ask, is that some, not me, but some of those ignorant maga republicans think Biden was fine with an open border and would not be doing anything right now if it weren't for the confluence of the eyeopening effectiveness of Operation Lonestar; his craving for Ukraine funding; and it being an election year. he is trying to shed his soft on border image.
