Subject: Re: Vance will take the blame, again
great followup from theAtlantic :
- nothing original in gop's MAGA playbook, many aspects (proj2025,....) all copied from orban.
(key ingredient was the utter simplicity of whatever populist topics polled best, as digging deep into policy was completely superfluous)
- orban's strength grew came AFTER his first loss and considerably into his rightwing takeover of media, and lasted more than a decade further
(analagously, our current timepoint with trump, CNN being the another major piece at risk)
- orban's credibility collapse was mainly driven by his media promoting an pending invasion of hungary by a cocaine-snorting zelensky
(so there is a idiot threshold, it just hasnt been found yet in america)
- orban's control of the judiciary and media meant he was well prepared to challenge a loss...but the landslide was so overwhelming he is saving resources for another comeback.
(nothing seems to prevent this other than an interim bolsonaro type conviction...but it would have to be done by his own judges who will be weighing the likelihood of orban winning again)

President Trump:
