since the general availability of local inference HW (NPU) from intel and amd ~2 years ago, i have wondered why the lack of interest in pc sales. never being able to find convincing technical reasons, i gave up researching a few months ago.

recently nvidia announces cpu and inference HW for PCs, entirely omitting the cpu duopoly.

is this just marketing? is there actual software to back this that did not exist for intel\amd ?
