And guess who is the most concrete (non-abstract) thinker in America today? (Hint: He thinks that political asylum is a place.)
Ellen Braaten @ellenbraaten.bsky.soc... 28m When I've said Trump's moral development
is at the stage of a toddler's I wasn't trying to be funny. This is from Kohlberg's Stages Of Moral Development. (BTW, Kohlberg found only 10-15% of people reach the most advanced level of moral reasoning, as it requires the capacity for abstract thinking)

Right-wingers have an underdeveloped morality. They are perpetually stuck in stages 2-4 and never mature to adult moral standards.
This is why they are so easy to manipulate by power structures and also why they are so morally inconsistent.

SNIP Lawrence Kohlberg's theory of moral development describes moral reasoning in six stages, grouped into three levels: preconventional, conventional, and postconventional. In the preconventional level (Stages 1-2), moral reasoning focuses on self-interest and avoiding punishment. The conventional level (Stages 3-4) involves conforming to social norms and laws, while the postconventional level (Stages 5-6) is characterized by a focus on universal ethical principles and social contracts, even when they conflict with laws. We have a President who appears to be stuck in stages 1-2 and may think the rest of us are suckers.
