Subject: Court working overtime
Judge Xinis, who is overseeing the illegal deportation case of Abrego-Garcia, is working overtime and demanding that the parties do the same.

The USSC confirmed her initial order for the US Government to return Abrego-Garcia to the US, and confirmed her authority in the case. So she did just that.

Just a couple of hours after the USSC handed down their decision, she ordered a status report (where is he, what have you done to get him back, what else are you going to do to get him back) by 9 am yesterday. The Trump admin whined and complained and didn't comply. She again ordered the report by 11 am. More whining. So she ordered the parties to appear in court at 1 pm. The poor lawyer for the government (the sucker who replaced the previous lawyer whom the Trump admin fired for actually telling the truth) couldn't answer the questions and hinted that his client isn't giving him the answers.

Judge Xinis wasn't happy. So now the admin needs to file a daily report by 5 pm every day - including weekends, so today and tomorrow. And she also basically invited the attorneys representing Abrego-Garcia to ask for a contempt finding.

This one is getting more interesting every day. I'm sure the motion for contempt is forthcoming today, and I hope it includes subpoenas for some actual officials to appear in court and testify as to those questions. If they're not going to tell their lawyer, she'll drag their butts into court and ask them directly. And I really hope she's ready to toss some folks in jail until they comply. Let's hold some feet to the fire and get answers.
