Mandate probably is slightly too strong of a description but it does capture Trumps popularity with voters on issues that matter most to voters. Voters in every demographic group voted Trump in increased percentages, some by a little, others groups by a lot, but clearly Trump has demonstrated broad appeal and has broadened the base of the Republican party.
