Heh. 2 reasons, both attributable to democrat policies.

1, local democrats pass "tenant protection laws" that make it tough for landlords to evict deadbeats. During COVID it was especially bad because places like Seattle would forbid any landlord for kicking some one out for not paying their rent...so naturally the rent was never paid. And it took years - if ever - for the cities to pay the landlords.

2, local democrats are grabbing up housing and sticking illegals in there, driving up rents for everyone else.
