Nah. They wouldn't believe him, but they would publicly agree with him to show support IF they felt supporting him would further their interests (tax-free firearms silencers, mandatory bible study/prayer in schools, outlawing birth control, outlawing gay rights, eliminating pollution regulations, etc)
