A fiery president Biden delivered an energetic speech tonight in Detroit, attacking Donald Trump to chants of ‘Lock Him Up.’

In a strange way, maybe this democratic firing squad and media feeding frenzy were exactly what Biden needed to finally get him to call Trump a “convicted criminal” and a “business fraud,” and tell the crowd that Trump raped” the writer E. Jean Carroll.

The president’s defiance, and the crowd’s enthusiastic response, helped give the Biden event at a Detroit high school gym the flavor of a Trump rally at times. When Mr. Biden referred to his political opponent, there were chants of “Lock him up” — which the president did not discourage. When he criticized news media coverage, big cheers followed, with his supporters turning to boo and point fingers at reporters.

Biden showed the crowd that regardless of the hammering he's taken over the past couple of weeks, he doesn't stay down. He brushes himself off and keeps on keeping on.

Yeah he’s older and slower, stutters, and makes verbal gaffes but he's the most legislatively successful president in decades.

And Trump is a felon and a rapist who quotes Hitler, will support a national ban on abortion beginning at conception, said he'll be a dictator, said he'll terminate the Constitution, stole some of the nation's most highly classified documents, wants to take away insurance from millions of Americans, and will strip rights from LGBTQ individuals and families.

So, hey, it's not even the middle of July. There's a long time left in this campaign and anything that can happen, will happen.
