Trump’s threat to democracy starts with him legitimately winning the election, not with a civil war. He’d then use the trappings of democracy to dispense with democracy.

I’ve explained it before, so I won’t go into the details again. But the end point would be a Russian style democracy, where those in power choose who gets to run in elections, thereby assuring they will remain in power.
