Subject: Weisselberg: 5 Months in Rikers
Gee, at some point you'd think republicans might ask themselves why they want the leader of their party and their party's candidate for president to be the guy whose CFO keeps having to go to jail to cover up his crimes. But I guess that's why they call it a cult.
Former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg was sentenced to five months in prison Wednesday after pleading guilty to perjury, as the ex-CFO was found to have lied under oath during a deposition and at the civil fraud trial against former President Donald Trump and his company—with Forbes’ reporting helping to expose he knew more than he let on.
In a letter sent by her office on April 9 to Judge Arthur Engoron, the New York attorney general seeks documents held by Weisselberg, asking that they be examined for possible fraud despite the discovery process and the trial being over, as Weisselberg has since said he committed perjury during the case.
Wait wut? Someone in the Trump Organization hiding documents that should have been turned over in discovery. Shocking.
No, not really.
