Subject: Re: What looting the Treasury really looks like
The Environmental Protection Agency under the Biden administration awarded Power Forward Communities the grant in April 2024 as part of the agency's Greenhouse Gas Reduction Fund program. Power Forward Communities received the green energy grant despite the fact that it was founded months earlier in late 2023 and never managed anywhere near the grant's dollar figure—it reported just $100 in total revenue during its first three months in operation, according to its latest tax filings.

Isn't that because Power Forward Communities was a coalition group, made up of heavy hitters like Habitat for Humanity and United Way, created specifically for this purpose? The umbrella organization was newly created, but the five member organizations have massive experience in developing homes - and thus make a ton of sense as recipients of federal money intended to reduce the carbon footprint of residential units:

Power Forward Communities is a coalition formed by Enterprise Community Partners, Rewiring America, Habitat for Humanity International, the Local Initiatives Support Corporation, and United Way Worldwide. Its purpose is to transform the housing sector, save homeowners and renters money, invest in stronger communities, and help meet national climate goals. On April 4, 2024, the group was awarded a $2 billion, seven-year National Clean Investment Fund (NCIF) grant from the Environmental Protection Agency to provide capital for affordable residential decarbonization throughout the country, with a specific focus on low income and disadvantaged communities.

Seems like a completely appropriate allocation of funds to me. Sure, you might disagree with the general idea of allocating federal funds to decarbonize homes and apartments. But that's Congress' call - and once Congress appropriated money to pursue that goal, awarding it to this particular organization makes a ton of sense. Regardless of what "links" it might have to a Democrat. (NB - if an article casts aspersions on a group because it is "linked" to a despised person, rather than any specific role that person plays in the organization, it's usually a sign that they're reaching).
