I don't know much about Wise but it sounds quite similar to Revolut. Since about COVID time, I'd say about 60%+ of people aged 18 to 40 in Ireland have a Revolut account. Most got it for simplicity to replace cash. It is linked to your cell phone number so that is all you need to pay someone but it is also very low cost for Fx.

Just pointing out that I'd say Wise has competition.
