Subject: Re: Lab leak theory unravelling
So you say that Sky News is a conspiracy theory outfit, but you’re not willing to say that the lab leak theory is.
Okay.
No. That is why I said the odds are not in favor of lab leak. And, yes, you can go to your non-science sources even within the government and find support for lab leak, but that's not the scientific view - which is likely natural.
Overall, we rate Sky News Australia Right-Biased based on story selection and editorial positions that mostly favor the right. We also rate them borderline Questionable and Mixed for factual reporting due to several failed fact checks, unproven claims, and the promotion of conspiracy theories and misinformation.
Sky News Australia is currently operated by Australian News Channel Pty Ltd (ANC), a subsidiary of News Corp Australia, a part of News Corp and owned by Rupert Murdoch.
In review, Sky News Australia publishes news with story selection that favors the center-right Morrison Government such as this: “Morrison ‘unbelievably good’ at handling coronavirus crisis.” They also cover critical opposition voices: “Morrison government is ‘only good at manufacturing slogans.’ Further, they promote conspiracy theories regarding coronavirus and climate change and do not report favorably on immigration. When covering world news about the USA, they cover the Trump administration favorably “President Trump has ‘huge win’ following powerful endorsement.”
I think this supports my view.

The source I like is behind a paywall - blocked.
In our July, 2022, Editorial—entitled Searching for SARS-CoV-2 origins: the saga continues—we wrote: “To discover the source of an outbreak we must work forward without preconceptions, following wherever the evidence leads”. Last month, several news outlets reported that two US agencies investigating the origins of SARS-CoV-2, the Energy Department and Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), had information suggesting that the COVID-19 pandemic had resulted from a laboratory leak. With current genome editing technology it is easy to manipulate a virus in a laboratory, but it is much easier to manipulate public opinion with political language.

This is what I think happens Dope. People get manipulated. So the odds are in the natural origins favor, except, of course, you are a Sky or Fox News fan. Then it's the opposite.
