Subject: Gov Kemp Rejects GOP Efforts...
...to remove Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis following former president Trump's criminal indictment for election interference.

A group of Georgia Republicans had also pushed for Willis' removal through a commission that could sanction or oust a prosecutor determined to be neglecting their responsibilities, using a state law that Kemp signed in May.

Kemp said on Thursday, however, that he's seen no evidence that Willis' actions in the case warrant action by the oversight commission, calling a special session 'not feasible' and saying it 'may ultimately prove to be unconstitutional.'

Georgia state republicans never had the votes anyway: removal would require a two-thirds vote in the state Senate and the GOP's majority falls short of that threshold.
