I'm wondering if that law can stand. Immigration is a federal matter, not state. OTOH, while TX may not be able to deport them, is there anything from stopping them to have a law that states that it shall be illegal to cross an international border with Texas without proper documentation?

Congress needs to get serious and address this issue of immigration and asylum!
