Subject: Re: Migrant Crisis 'Will Destroy NYC
"Mayor Adams has not said that "the immigrants" are "ruining" the city. "

Do you prefer "destroying" the city ?

I don't want either. And Mayor Adams.....who I did NOT vote for in the primary.....is not the sole perspective. But he makes sure that his voice is sufficiently loud and ubiquitous, and thus is constantly in the headlines. I'd be intensely interested in what the mayor's office would have been doing and saying all along if Kathryn Garcia (who lost to Adams by 1 percentage point) were our mayor. Her record demonstrates her remarkable and practical problem-solving vision and capabilities. (sigh)

"New York Democratic Rep. Adriano Espaillat on Friday said that for New York City to better manage the influx of migrants, cooler heads need to prevail.....'I'm not gonna sugarcoat this, I don't think they're gonna destroy the city. I just don't think that,' Espaillat told The Hill.

Many immigrant rights advocates and Democrats are biting their lip on Adams's comments, hoping to avoid further inflaming an issue at the top of the Republican agenda."

If you want to agree with Adams' pronouncement, that's your right. But just keep in mind that he may be the loudest voice for now, but he most certainly is not the only voice.
