Apparently, Tesla may have been diddling with the odometers to run out warranties faster than should have done. That's the allegation.

I’ve seen this, but until there’s incontrovertible proof on the table, I’m skeptical. The reason is simple: there are maps at the fingertips of every person on earth, and it would be trivial to match the “miles between” and the “miles driven” on a trip - even if only as something to amuse the kids.

I would say “the risk isn’t worth the reward” but then I remember VW’s dieselgate, but that was so sophisticated it was reasonable to think it wouldn’t be discovered (or at least I can convince myself of that). The “records the wrong mileage” seems just too easy to detect to be real.

Then again, never underestimate….
