That's the case since decades - as well as Finland for decades had one of the highest suicide rates in the world (coming down recently) --- in the same years in which it ranked "happiest country in the world"!
Sarcastically speaking: Maybe statistically the "one of the happiest countries" rank simply was the result of the most unhappy people eliminating themselves from the "how happy are you?" polls and statistics?
I briefly dated, and had a much longer social dance partnership with, someone from Sweden who noted that Swedes drink steadily throughout the long, dark winters to endure them. The problem apparently comes when American tourists visit and do not understand that the Swedes are pacing themselves, so get blind drunk.
N.b. this person was a sociopath (DSM-IV labelling), and a very unhappy trophy wife to a local real estate magnate, then a trophy girlfriend to a local car dealership owner. My belief in her truthfulness was about the same as my belief in Trump's, so no idea if the anecdote was truthful or not. An excellent swing dancer, though.
