That's somewhat separate from the biometrics stuff (EES), which will take the place of the passport-stamping ritual. Some ports of entry are already doing it; others not. As I understand it, this is supposed to be all in place in a week or so. We'll see. Once you're in the new system, it "should" be quick and easy to get through passport control.

Either way, it is what it is. I'd check with your carrier or cruise line for details.
