Subject: Re: Trump Drops Lawsuit Rather...
He may have waited too long to drop the case. He may still have created a major problem for himself. Knowing the NYS fraud trial was starting this week, Trump and his lawyers told judge #2 in this Cohen civil case -- a case that TRUMP initiated, mind you -- that he would be unable to attend Cohen trial #2 this week and it would have to be postponed until next week because he was required to attend trial #1 for the NYS fraud trial.

He wasn't required to attend that trial. He DIDN'T even voluntarily attend trial #1 each day of the week. He left Manhattan. Not to campaign in an upcoming Presidential primary battleground state, but to return to home in Florida.

In other words, he lied. To a judge.

Prior to him dropping this Cohen suit, there was talk that he might face sanctions or perjury charges from judge #2 for lying that he was unavailable this week. I'm not sure dropping your own case after having lied to a judge eliminates your exposure to contempt / perjury even if the overall case is subsequently dismissed.
