The problem of evil. That has been argued for a very long time. That is only a small part of the reason I'm atheist, but I think it a valid argument. Either god is indifferent, powerless, doesn't exist, or actively evil. Anyway you slice it, not worth worshipping.

As for the 2A, a sizable part of the population is willing to accept losses in the tens of thousands every year. So long as that is the case, the 2A is not going anywhere.
