So why would you think that if the progressives/Democrats you disagree with on this board moved to a blue city that they would all start voting Republican? It's not like all the progressives in New York or Seattle or Portland or San Francisco are voting for Republicans, after all.....

See the above. The explanation lies in the definition of insanity. And since you had this in there (Which means that Democrats generally like blue city policies, on the whole.) one can conclude that democrats are in fact fans of crime.
