History lesson: MS-13 has been in the United States since the early 1980s but represents less than 1% of the gang activity in the country. It's unlikely you'd even know it exists except for Trump claiming in a State of the Union that MS-13 had “infiltrated our schools” and later claiming that authorities had removed “50 percent” of MS-13 members in the United States, and repeatedly falsely claiming at his campaign rallies to have "sent thousands and thousands of MS-13 horrible people out of this country or into our prisons."
